Chimney Repoint

This was my first project ordering and working with a Mobile Elevated Work Platform for myself and I completed the whole project in 48 hours. It was absolutely more than I bargained for, but got it done with great results. Outside the obvious, this chimney was in great shape, not a single brick had to be replaced. I determined that this advanced deterioration depicted in the bottom left image was caused by water damage from displaced flashing. As a final touch, went in and used a bonding agent, to adhere that flashing nice and tight to the chimney at the roof level to prevent this from happening again. For the color or the mortar, I added barely any Hazel to each mix and turned out exactly as it was. Stricken with a wooden dowel for a rough, but clean concave finish.
